Petronas Twin Towers
        Petronas Twin Towers, pair of skyscraper office buildings in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, that are among the world tallest buildings. They were designed by the Argentine-born American architect Cesar Pelli and were completed in 1996. The Twin Towers are identical structures that are circular in plan, contain 88 stories of occupiable space, and rise to a height of 451.9m (1483 feet), a figure that includes the 73.6 meter (242 foot) high pinnacle atop each tower . Each tower exterior is sheathed in stainless steel, and a skybridge links the two towers. Upon their completion in 1996, the Petronas Twin Towers were declared the world tallest.

National Monument
        Close to Parliament House stands the National Monument, a great bronze sculpture erected to commemorate the soldiers who gave up their lives in the triumph over the Communists. Constructed in 1966, it is reputed to be one of the world's largest free-standing bronze sculptures. Standing 15.54 meters tall, the sculpture was designed by the American sculptor Felix de Weldon and portrays seven men from the Malaysian Armed Forces holding the national flag, each symbolizing one of seven qualities: leadership, unity, strength, vigilance, suffering, courage and sacrifice.

National Museum
        The National Museum is a palatial structure adopting the style of old Malay architecture. Its imposing entrance is flanked by murals depicting aspects of Malaysian culture and history. Inside there are exhibits on local history, culture and traditions, arts and crafts, economic activities, currency, weapons and local flora and fauna. Outside, old locomotives, vintage cars and other relics of transport from days gone by can be found. Reconstructed Malay palaces from other parts of the country also grace the expansive grounds.

Petaling Street
        Chinatown Petaling Street is one of Kuala Lumpur most popular tourist destinations. In the evenings, part of the road is closed to traffic and it transforms itself into a bustling night market. A line of stalls come to live in front of the pre-war shops, offering products of every description, from fake leather goods to the obligatory Dunhill watches. The area attracts many locals and visitors in search of bargain items, including inexpensive dresses, shoes, fabrics and souvenirs.

Suria KLCC Shopping Centre
        This is Malaysia's premier and most sophisticated shopping destination, located at the prestigious Kuala Lumpur City Centre ( KLCC ). Set in the heart of the Golden Triangle, it offers an array of goods and services, from fashion, entertainment, arts and culture to fast food outlets and restaurants, all spread out over six levels of retail space where Isetan, Parkson, Tanjong Golden Village are a few major tenants. Hotels, office buildings, a scenic park and fountains surround the center.

Mid Valley Megamall
        Poised to be one of the largest retail, food and entertainment centers in Malaysia--and Asia--Mid Valley Megamall is the latest addition to the many shopping complexes in the city. The retail mall houses three leading and successful anchor tenants, Carrefour, Jusco and Metrojaya. Complementing them are many mini-anchors and hundreds of specialty shops. Shoppers will not go hungry as there are plenty of eateries around. Mid Valley also houses a 36,000 square foot MPH bookstore, a gigantic 18-screen multiplex cinema, as well as a 38-lane bowling alley.

Starhill Shopping Centre
        Adjacent to JW Marriott Hotel, Starhill Gallery is a stylish building with marble flooring and gilded banisters. This one-stop, six-story shopping haven is one of the newer takes on the many shopping complexes in the city. Here, you will find the finest international names offering clothes, jewelery, timepieces, accessories, leather goods and various designer items.

Sungei Wang Plaza
        This no-frills shopping centre has a maze of shops spread over its five floors. The plaza is integrated with the adjacent Bukit Bintang Plaza and together they form a total of two million square feet of retail space. Parkson Grand, a large department store, occupies much of the building. You will find a variety of products and services under one roof, and probably the largest number of shops selling electronic goods around. Plenty of fashion treasures, computer products, sporting goods and books are available here. One piece of good news for customers, bargaining is allowed in most of the shops.

Lot 10 Shopping Centre
        This is a fashionable rendezvous that caters for upmarket shoppers and is linked to Sungei Wang Plaza by a covered pedestrian bridge. This huge shopping mall, with its distinctive green and blue striped facade, has numerous chic restaurants where the city's hip crowds like to hang out. Its anchor tenant, Isetan, a Japanese-owned Department Store, has a high concentration of boutiques and gift shops, as well as branded apparel, accessories, sports gear and cosmetics. The top floor of the store is devoted to exclusive designer clothes.

Berjaya Times Square
        Berjaya Times Square is the largest shopping mall in the country at 3,450,000 square feet providing more than 700 individual shops and various retail anchors. Currently housing the biggest Borders Bookstore, Metrojaya Department Store, Cold Storage Supermarket, Ampang Superbowl and the largest IMAX Theatre in South East Asia, BTS is confident that shoppers will be happy and will definitely enjoy every moment spent here.
